U.K. CHARTS: YEARS & YEARS HIT #1

Olly Alexander has his first Official Albums Chart #1 with Years & Years as a solo project, while the Encanto cast scores a second week on top at singles.

Night Call (Polydor) is Years & Years’ second #1 and the first since it became Alexander’s solo act. Of the album’s total sales, 75% came from physical copies.

Yard Act finish at #2 with its debut set, The Overload (Island). It's the fastest-selling debut album on vinyl of any band this century.

The late Meat Loaf has three albums in this week’s Top 40: Bat Out of Hell (Epic) at #3—a new peak for the record, which previously topped out at #9—Hits Out of Hell (Epic) at #5 and Bat Out of Hell 2: Back Into Hell (Virgin) at #24.

Aurora’s The Gods We Can Touch (Decca) is her first U.K. Top 10 album, at #8. The Sherlocks score their second with World I Understand (TeddyBoy Records), at #9.

On the U.K.’s Official Singles Chart, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” (Disney) by the Encanto cast holds at #1 thanks to strong streaming figures; of its 55.7k in chart sales this week, streaming counted for 96%, or 7.6m streams.

Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran’s “Peru” (Island) climbs two places to #2 as Encanto's “Surface Pressure,” by Jessica Darrow, is up one to #4.

Fellow Encanto track “The Family Madrigal,” by Stephanie Beatriz and Olga Merediz, climbs four to a new peak of #11.

DJ Lost Frequencies and Calum Scott’s “Where Are You Now” (Insanity) also climbs four, to #7. This week’s highest new entry is “Pump 101” (EGA) by Digga D and Still Brickin’, at #9.
