A+E has formed a strategic alliance with the hot new management/production firm Range Media Partners. Word is that the pact includes a $60m investment from A+E, valuing the 1.5-year-old Range at roughly $300m.
A+E will serve as co-producer on TV projects developed through Range and avail itself of the agency's roster of talent for first-look programming opportunities. Range clients include Bradley Cooper, Benicio Del Toro, Danny McBride, Anna Kendrick, Michael Fassbender, Tom Hardy, M. Night Shyamalan and Damon Lindelof.
Range's week was also marked by the news that rising rapper Jack Harlow was cast in the starring role in the upcoming remake of White Men Can't Jump. This will be Harlow's first acting role in a feature film. He will play the part made famous by Woody Harrelson in the original. Black-ish writers Kenya Barris and Doug Hall are handling the script.
Range was launched in September 2020. Its music division reps Harlow, Mariah Carey, Midland, Justin Tranter, D-Smoke and PARTYNEXTDOOR, among others.
