HISTORY LESSON

Def Jam’s Tunji Balogun and Nicki Farag are joined by a phalanx of female artists for the Women of Def Jam event commemorating Women’s History Month, which took place 3/28 at the Beverly Hills HQ of electric-vehicle company Lucid Motors. With a "Future Leaders" panel, a live performance, remarks by Balogun and more, the event underscored the contributions made by women artists (also highlighted by the Women of Def Jam compilation that dropped on all platforms 3/18) and team members since the label’s 1985 inception. Seen wishing they didn’t have to waste their considerable style on this website are (l-r) Pap Chanel, Ilham, DaniLeigh, Balogun, Nevaeh Jolie, Kendra Jae, Farag and Kaash Paige.

Balogun and artist Coco Jones (who performed new single "Caliber" at the event) hope that the nearest electric vehicle will take them far from the likes of us.

Farag and Kaash Paige remind a thirsty trade editor that the Moet is for VIPs only.
