DARKROOM LAUNCHES ITS FUTURE

Justin Lubliner’s Darkroom has launched Darkroom Futures, a paid-internship program creating opportunities for people who lack access to the music industry.

In collaboration with Interscope and the Creative Futures Collective, the six-week summer internship (8/1-9/9) will provide participants with a well-rounded introduction to the industry—both in creative and business-related fields.

Offering experience through hands-on tasks and a marketing project focused on specific Darkroom and Interscope artists, the program will also allow interns to learn from music executives as part of a weekly speaker series.

Applications are available now and must be submitted by 6/15 to be considered. No high school or college degree is required, though applicants must be over 18 to participate. The candidates selected will work out of Interscope's L.A. office.

"Getting a foot in the door in the music industry has never been harder," said Lubliner. "Darkroom Futures was created to flip the music-internship model on its head and offer individuals from disadvantaged communities the opportunity to gain the experience and skills they need to set them up for a successful career in music."

Executives interested in speaker opportunities are encouraged to email [email protected]. For more info, click here.
