Def Jam has announced the signing of Atlanta rapper SwaVay via Giant Music. The artist’s single and video “Jugg” have dropped ahead of forthcoming full-length Almetha’s Son.

The young rapper shared a Grammy nom in 2019 with DJ Khalil, Cordae, Denzel Curry, and Trevor Rich for his contribution to “Elevate” from the Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse ST; he’s since become a serious contender among devotees of trap.

As for Giant Music, which inked a distrib deal for SwaVay with Def Jam, is more Giant news on the horizon? Could we see even see a return of the legendary Giant Records?
