U.K. MIDWEEKS: EZRA & KATE EYE THE TOP

George Ezra and Kate Bush look to unseat Harry Styles from the top of the U.K. albums and singles chart Friday.

Ezra’s third studio album, Gold Rush Kid (Columbia), is on course to repeat the chart success of his previous sets, outselling his closest competition 4:1. That competition, however, is Styles’ mighty Harry’s House (Columbia), currently at #2.

Chase & Status’ fifth studio album, What Came Before (EMI), sits at #3 on the Official Albums Chart mid-week, while the BTS compilation PROOF (Big Hit) is angling to become the K-pop superstars’ fourth U.K. Top 5 album. A (belated) 50th anniversary reissue of Elton John’s 1971 Madman Across the Water (UMC/Mercury) is currently #8. Styles’ second album, Fine Line, may be making a return to the Top 10 as well. Nick Mulvey’s third studio LP, New Mythology (Fiction), is #13 and could become his second Top 20 set. XXXTENTACION’s posthumous Look at Me: The Album (Bad Vibes Forever) is eyeing a #24 entry this week.

At singles, Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” (Fish People) is on track to move past Styles’ “As It Was,” ending his 10-week reign at #1. It would be Bush’s first chart-topping single since 1978’s “Wuthering Heights.”

Scottish dance duo LF System are hoping for a move to #4 with “Afraid to Feel” (Warner), which has grown in popularity since its start as a TikTok sensation.

Tracks likely to reach new peaks this week include Ezra’s “Green Green Grass” (#6), David Guetta, Becky Hill and Ella Henderson’s “Crazy What Love Can Do” (#12), Nathan Dawe f/Ella Henderson’s “21 Reasons” (#13), Benzz’ “Je M’appelle” (#18) and Calvin Harris, Dua Lipa and Yung Thug’s “Potion” (#19).

The week’s highest new entry is most likely BTS’s new track, “Yet to Come.”
