THEY’VE GOT THE FUNK

Avi Dahan, Alec Lykken and Tom Bender have launched Funkshway Records, an L.A. house-music label, with first release "HYPNOSIS" by A-BO f/ero808, which was teased on TikTok, garnering 600k+ views.

Its name a play on the ancient Chinese practice of feng shui, Funkshway aims to build the West Coast house community one dance party at a time. Venue partner Winston House hosted the company's inaugural event on 6/30.

“We’re simply signing music we love, that makes people feel good and have a great time, while doing right by our artists,” said Dahan. Said Lykken, “House music is long overdue for an identity on the West Coast and the U.S. at large, which we’re excited to provide." "You can’t spell Funkshway without fun,” Bender pointed out. “That’s pretty much all we’re doing with this label, and I’m thankful to be doing it with my best friends."

Noisemaker alum Dahan also serves as a lead West Coast attorney for Boyarski Fritz LLP. Lykken has recently co-founded NFT projects on the Solana blockchain as brand/creative director for the Catalina Whale Mixer, a Web3 entertainment franchise. Bender doubles as a photographer and CD for the likes of Adidas, L’Oréal and Beats.
