Universal Music Publishing Group’s production-music company has struck an exclusive joint venture with film composer Harry Gregson-Williams that will see the creation of a new label, Scored By: Harry Gregson-Williams.
The launch of the Universal Production Music label will feature mood-based themes ranging from action-packed chases to apprehensive tension and impulsive ripples. Label partner and fellow composer Tom Howe is selecting the music along with Gregson-Williams. UMPG has had an exclusive global administration deal with the latter since 2019.
“Scored By: Harry Gregson-Williams has been thoughtfully curated for our film and TV broadcast audience. The result exemplifies excellence and further highlights our commitment to working with the world’s best composers,” said UMPG Chairman & CEO Jody Gerson.
Gregson-Williams’ credits include House of Gucci, the live-action Mulan, all four instalments of Shrek and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.
“Making my music available in this way—beyond the boundaries of the specific film and television score commissions I'm doing—seems like a wonderful opportunity and a natural extension of my work,” Gregson-Williams said.
