SONY PUB WELCOMES TAIKO INTO THE FOLD

Sony Music Publishing has inked a global deal with songwriter/producer Taiko.

After catching the attention of Latin Grammy-winning producer and Sony Pub songwriter Sky Rompiendo, Taiko signed with Rompiendo's imprint, Black Koi Entertainment. Since then, he's helped craft hits for a bevy of Latin artists, including J. Balvin, Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Zion & Lennox and Paloma Mami.

"I'm happy to join the Sony Music Publishing family and take a new step with the people at Black Koi, who've accompanied me throughout this journey," said Taiko.

Taiko's work on Balvin's "Rojo" led to his first Latin Grammy nomination. Balvin's subsequent Taiko-assisted hit, "Tu Veneno," reached #1 on the Latin Airplay chart its opening week.

Said President & CEO of Sony Music Publishing Latin America & U.S. Latin Jorge Mejia, "Together with Sky and Black Koi Entertainment, we can’t wait to collaborate with Taiko and contribute to what’s already starting to be a stellar career."
