THEY CRUSHED IT (UPDATE)

Giovannie and the Hired Guns have signed with Warner Music Nashville and will release Tejano Punk Boyz, their third album and major-label debut, on 10/28.

The news breaks just hours after we congratulated Garrett Capone and the team at Crush Music for guiding the band's "Ramon Ayala" to #1 at Alternative radio after landing the top spot at Rock. It's the first time since 2006 that a debut artist has scored a #1 at both formats.

The song's huge chorus will give rock fans the feels, recalling as it does the heady days of '90s alternative domination. Check out the video—which nods teasingly to Van Halen's "Hot for Teacher" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit," among other classic clips—below.

Ramon Ayala, in case you were unaware, is the name of a legendary norteño singer who's been churning out hits since the early 1970s.
