HAMILTON STREAMS INTO DEF JAM

Def Jam has appointed seasoned commerce exec Mike Hamilton to SVP, streaming & commerce, per CEO/Chairman Tunji Balogun and EVP/4th & Broadway President LaTrice Burnette.

“I've known Mike for some time and have always greatly admired his work,” said Balogun. “He boasts some of the best relationships in the industry and brings a deep, nuanced understanding of the streaming ecosystem and a keen eye for strategy. Our company and our artists will immediately benefit from Mike’s experience and expertise.”

“Going back to our days at Atlantic, I’ve had a front-row seat for Mike’s rapid growth as an executive and the passion, creativity and dynamism he brings to the job every day,” Burnette added.

Hamilton arrives at Def Jam after three years as senior director, commerce, at Epic, where he led campaigns for 21 Savage, GIVĒON, Future, DJ Khaled, Jennifer Hudson, Travis Scott and more.

He got his start at Atlantic, rising to senior manager, streaming & sales, while strategizing for Cardi B, Lil Uzi Vert, Megan Thee Stallion and Nipsey Hussle, among others.

Hamilton will remain based in New York, where he's less likely to run into a HITS nerd.
