Peter Edge's RCA is on a historic roll with breakthrough star Doja Cat. Her latest single, "Vegas," from the soundtrack to Baz Luhrmann's ELVIS, has soared to #1 at Pop, becoming her sixth chart-topper—the most for any artist this decade, surpassing even Justin Bieber (who has a mere five). "Vegas" is also the first soundtrack single to go to #1 at Pop since Justin Timberlake's 2016 Trolls smash, "Can't Stop the Feeling," also on RCA.
The songs in Doja's chart-topping run also include "Say So," "Kiss Me More" f/SZA," "Need to Know," "Woman" and "I Like You (Happier Song)" by Post Malone f/Doja Cat.
It's worth noting that the artist's development and domination have continued off-cycle. To celebrate Doja's staying power and newly minted six-pack of #1's, RCA CEO Edge, COO John Fleckenstein and promo boss Keith Rothschild will host a Zoom on which they will compare and contrast ELVIS and Trolls from a smoke-filled dorm room.
