ACADEMY AWARDS QUINN COLEMAN SCHOLARSHIPS

The Recording Academy's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team has unveiled the recipients of the inaugural Quinn Coleman Memorial Scholarship in conjunction with the Grammy Museum.

Malcolm Bryant (Middle Tennessee State), Craig Fleming (Howard University), Daniela Alejandra Garcia-Escobar (The New School), Jasmine Gordon (Spelman College) and Chantal Esi Greaves (University of Miami) will each receive a $1,000 tuition scholarship, two $250 book/equipment stipends, a $500 interview-prep stipend, admittance to financial- and emotional-wellness seminars, internships at the Recording Academy or Latin Recording Academy to begin next year and a series of career-development seminars.

Named after music executive and DJ Quinn Coleman, who died at 31 in August 2020, the scholarship aligns with the DEI department's mission to "eliminate barriers in the music industry by providing professional-development opportunities to help prepare students for full-time employment."
