The Songs of Bacharach & Costello, a boxed set from UMe, will arrive on 3/3.

The 45-song set includes the album Burt Bacharach and Elvis Costello recorded in 1998, Painted From Memory, an array of live Costello performances of Bacharach classics and Painted From Memory songs and the duo’s scuttled stage show, Taken From Life.

Painted From Memory has been newly remastered for its 25th anniversary from the original tapes by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Mastering Studios. The deluxe set features early drafts of lyrics, studio notes, pages from the Painted From Memory musical script, and a new 10k-word essay by Costello.

Costello will perform several of his Bacharach collaborations during his 10-show 100 Songs and More residency at the Gramercy Theatre in New York, 2/9-22. The first song Elvis and Burt wrote together, “God Give Me Strength,” is already on the set list for 2/16, the first of four nights in which pianist Steve Nieve will join him.

Three of the set’s previously unreleased songs are now available.
