SPEAKER IN THE HOUSE

Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy gala at the Beverly Hilton was, as ever, the swankiest, starriest, most Clive-a-rific confab imaginable. The event was positively wall-to-wall with nattily attired celebs and featured an overwhelming array of musical performances (see below). But perhaps no attendees were so warmly greeted as former Speaker of the House and political legend Nancy Pelosi and husband Paul Pelosi, seen here wishing they could table all discussion by us. In a possibly related story, Kevin McCarthy barely has the votes to pass wind.

The music at this spectacular was provided by Måneskin, Frankie Valli, Lizzo, Sheryl Crow (performing a tribute to Christine McVie), Jennifer Hudson, Elvis Costello and the Imposters with Juanes, Lauren Daigle, Latto, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne and MJ star Myles Frost. Clive was introduced by actor Kevin Costner (below), who reminisced about working with the industry icon and the late, great Whitney Houston during the making of The Bodyguard. Later, Costner fielded multiple questions from a HITS geek about Silverado.
