ACES HIGH: RED BULL RECORDS' INDIE-POP FAVES RETURN

Indie-pop darlings The Aces will unleash their third album, I’ve Loved You For So Long, on 6/2 on Red Bull Records. The set comes in the wake of breakout track “Girls Make Me Wanna Die,” which heartbroken kids have had on repeat since its arrival (earning 6m+ streams).

The set—emotionally honest, deep and retrospective—comes on the heels of the band’s sold-out 2022 arena tour with The Vamps, and its release just in time for Pride month is felicitous, as it explores the struggles, puzzles and joys of queer identity.

Lead track “Always Get This Way,” the band’s Cristal Ramirez says, reflects a particularly difficult phase. “This song is about shame, panic, and struggle,” she shares. “It’s about the fact that we hold no space for those struggling mentally in our society, and we just kind of wish they’d get over it and quit being an inconvenience. It was the song that felt like it granted us permission to make what would become our upcoming album. It’s one of the most vulnerable songs I’ve ever written.”

Check out the trailer for the new album below; we'll be cranking it as we tearfully review our high school yearbook.
