Nycesound Production has announced a partnership with Def Jam and ARTium Recordings. Founded by CEO/Chairman Terry “T-Nyce” Opoku and COO/President Ty “Focus” Manning in October 2020, Nycesound is a Black-owned Canadian label that prides itself on developing and shaping the culture through sound.
“We're extremely happy to have such legendary partners in our corner,” Opoku and Manning said in a joint statement. “We believe that with our artist-development skill set and our partners' experience making stars, this situation is definitely a great marriage to take our artists to the next level.”
ARTium Recordings founder and lauded producer No I.D. added, “It made sense as everything was already done and ready to go."
Nycesound Production plans to release the single "STR8" by its first act, R&B singer Liyah Katana, on 3/24. Meanwhile, we hear the label is enjoying the "nice sound" of us leaving it alone.
