CATCHING AIR

Lace up those Air Jordans, slip on that sweet Members Only jacket and crack open your favorite Bartles & Jaymes wine cooler (watermelon and mint for us, natch) because Ben Affleck’s totally tubular new Spotify playlist of '80s classics celebrating the release of his new film, AIR, has us “Dancing in the Sheets,” “Dancing in the Dark” and “Running With the Night"—oh, who are we kidding? We're exhausted just from reciting these titles.

Affleck’s "1984" is a cross-section of evergreen hits by Prince, Dolly Parton, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Van Halen, Sheila E., The Clash, George Clinton and a boatload of other artists who lent the director sonic inspiration during production of his new film chronicling the launch of the groundbreaking Air Jordan shoe.

When AIR music supervisor Andrea von Foerster (pictured) was asked what she thought Michael Jordan was bumpin’ on his Walkman in 1984, she responded, "Prince, like any self-respecting human alive at that time." Facts are facts. Avon, as she's known, earlier earned much acclaim for her supe work on Yellowstone, which helped introduce the world to Zach Bryan.
