Primary Wave Music is celebrating the 120th anniversary of Bing Crosby’s birth and Jazz Appreciation Month with the first release from a “Bing & Friends” series, eight duets by Der Bingle and Ella Fitzgerald.
Bing & Ella features remastered versions of the titular artists' duets from Crosby's radio shows of the 1940s and ’50s. The release coincides with Fitzgerald’s birthday (4/25), International Jazz Day (4/30) and Crosby’s birthday (5/3). PWM has overseen Crosby’s music since late 2021.
“It's such a wonderful tribute to both of their legacies and we can't wait to share the magic that they created together with jazz lovers everywhere," said Mary Crosby on behalf of the Bing Crosby estate.
Other upcoming Crosby celebrations include a May Pandora pop-up radio station and an exclusive SiriusXM Bing & Ella radio special on Crosby’s Corner.
