COOPER TO LEAD VIRGIN K-POP EFFORTS

In a sign of the times, Leslie Cooper will oversee K-pop releases for Virgin Music in her new role as SVP of artist development and special projects. Two other company execs were awarded VP stripes.

Based in Los Angeles and reporting to Virgin Music President Jacqueline Saturn, Cooper will also identify new artist-development opportunities at the company and lead collaborative efforts in that area.

Previously VP, Cooper worked closely with SM Entertainment on its SuperM and NCT 127 projects. Polo & Pan, Maggie Lindemann and Grace Ives were also under her wing. She was with Capitol Music Group, Columbia and Atlanticprior to joining Virgin.

In addition to Cooper’s promotion, Marisa Di Frisco has been named VP of national promotion and Lauren Holman has been elevated to VP of streaming marketing.

Di Frisco, who worked for years at iHeartMedia, will continue to oversee promo campaigns at the Alternative, Rock, AAA, and Non-Comm/College formats. At Virgin, she’s worked closely with SHAED, Clairo, The Maine and Bad Omens, among others. Based in New York, she reports to Promo SVP Marni Halpern.

Holman, whose successes include Rema, Mac DeMarco and David Kushner, will lead the Streaming and Playlisting Strategy team. She’ll report to SVP of Commercial Marketing Cindy James from Los Angeles.

“These three accomplished executives have played a crucial role in artist development. They make sure our labels and artists get the support they need when they need it,” Saturn said. “I’m happy to be able to promote them to these important new positions in which they will be able to contribute even more to our continued success.”
