Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Sony) returned to the #1 spot in its fourth weekend of release, the sort of comeback rarely seen in the summer movie season.
The pic pulled in an estimated $19.3m, which took its overall gross to $560m globally, $316m of which comes from North America. Spider-Verse narrowly beat out Disney/Pixar’s Elemental. It performed better than expected in its second week, grossing $18.5m.
The Jennifer Lawrence R-rated comedy No Hard Feelings was the week’s top new arrival, generating $15m at the box office.
