HIP-HOP AT 50: WILDIN' WITH MILES MARSHALL LEWIS

As hip-hop continues to celebrate its 50th anniversary, HITS contributor Miles Marshall Lewis took the time to educate New York Times Magazine readers on some very important words that have been embedded into our lexicon.

Published on Wednesday (8/9)—two days before hip-hop's designated birthdate of 8/11—the article limned five words popularized by hip-hop: "dope," "cake," "ghost," "woke" and "wildin'."
