HIP-HOP AT 50: iHEARTPODCAST DIVES DEEP INTO SOUTHERN RAP

iHeartPodcasts has tapped music exec Jerry Clark (formerly of So So Def/Island Def Jam) for a show called "Storytime With Legendary Jerry." Anticipated guests include So So Def founder Jermaine Dupri, Killer Mike, T.I., Jeezy and Outkast’s Big Boi. The creative process, industry dynamics and the challenges faced by artists are among the topics of discussion.

“This podcast is about celebrating the vibrant landscape of Southern rap and paying homage to the artists, executives and visionaries who have shaped it,” Clark said. “We will delve into the stories behind the scenes, offering listeners a front-row seat to the birth and evolution of this influential genre."

Prior to his VP role at So So Def/Island Def Jam, Clark was president of urban promotion at SRC/Universal Records. He also did a stint as promo manager at BMG.
