Geffen/UMe will commemorate the 30th anniversary of Nirvana’s In Utero with several multi-format reissues, available on 10/27. The big one is an eight-LP or five-CD Super Deluxe boxed set.
The Super Deluxe editions comprise 72 tracks with 53 previously unreleased inclusions. Among the unreleased material are two full In Utero-era concerts—Los Angeles in 1993 and Nirvana's final Seattle performance in 1994—plus six live cuts.
Additionally, In Utero’s original 12 songs, along with five bonus tracks and B-sides, have been newly remastered from the original analog stereo tapes by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Services. Weston assisted producer Steve Albini as the only other engineer at the sessions.
The Super Deluxe boxed sets also include a 48-page hardcover book with unreleased photos, a 20-page newly designed fanzine, a Los Angeles tour poster, replicas of the 1993 record-store-promo angel mobile, gig fliers, ticket stubs, an all-access tour laminate and backstage passes.
Nirvana's third and final studio album, released 9/21/93, In Utero debuted at #1 and went on to sell 6 million copies in the U.S. The band recorded it over the course of six days in February 1993 at Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.
