BRITTANY HOWARD LANDS AT ISLAND

Brittany Howard has inked a deal with Island ahead of her tour beginning 11/6, with new music on the way.

Upon making the announcement, Island co-CEO Justin Eshak praised the vocal powerhouse, remarking: “I’m a huge admirer of Brittany. She’s already solidified herself as one of the great talents of her generation and is just getting started. Her artistry fits perfectly with Island’s unique legacy, and I’m delighted we get to play a role in her career moving forward.”

Following an incredible run with Alabama Shakes—which included their platinum debut, 2012's Boys & Girls, and 2015's Sound & Color—Howard released her inaugural solo album, Jaime, in 2019. The single “Stay High” hit #1 on the Triple A chart, while "History Repeats" earned Grammy nods for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance. Howard followed up with the Jaime (Reimagined) remix album in 2021, featuring contributions by Childish Gambino, Bon Iver, Common, Michael Kiwanuka, EARTHGANG, Little Dragon and more.

Next up, Howard will play the Bourbon & Beyond festival on Friday (9/15) in Louisville, Kentucky, before embarking on the aforementioned headlining tour, which includes support from L’Rain on all U.S. dates. She will make stops at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and the Corona Capital Festival in Mexico City along the way. The full tour itinerary appears here.
