ROCK HALL LAUNCHES SCREENING SERIES

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation will launch a screening series 9/19 showcasing music docs and other films featuring Rock Hall inductees and artists they've inspired.

The series gets rolling in Los Angeles with a screening of MGM+'s San Francisco Sounds: A Place In Time, a new two-part original music docuseries featuring Rock Hall inductees Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Sly and the Family Stone, Janis Joplin, Steve Miller and more.

“We are experiencing a rare moment when some of the greatest music documentaries of our time are being created,” said John Sykes, chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. “We’ve chosen a select group of these films that shine a light on our Inductees and their music, as well as newer artists who are following in their footsteps.”

The screening series will be an opportunity for artists, producers and biz folks to discover the best new music films. Each screening will include a panel discussion featuring the filmmakers and artists. Tuesday's panel discussion will feature directors Alison Ellwood and Anoosh Tertzakian, Rock Hall inductee Steve Miller and former Rolling Stone Senior Editor Ben Fong-Torres.
