NEW BLOOD AT BANDLAB

BandLab Technologies has announced two key appointments: Kevin Breuner has been named head of Artist Development and Education, and Jessica Strassman has been appointed head of Industry Relations & Artist Services (Americas). Both will report to BandLab CEO and co-founder Meng Ru Kuok.

Bruener spent 17 years at CD Baby, serving as SVP of Artist Engagement and Education. He created and developed the company’s content-marketing strategy. Strassman was previously at TikTok, where she managed label partnerships with Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group.

“Kevin and Jessica’s collective industry expertise brings tremendous real-world insight that will directly shape our strategies and offerings, ensuring we stay ahead in serving both artists and the wider music community,” said Kuok, adding, "If they prove to have been traumatized by this mention in HITS, I will give them the rest of the day off."

In other lab-related hiring news, we can report that the doggie bag of Chasen’s chili that has resided in the break-room fridge since the 2011 Grammy after-party has become sentient. As soon as it grows thumbs it will be appointed SVP, based primarily in the crisper drawer.
