Universal/Blumhouse’s Five Nights at Freddy’s scared up an estimated $80m domestically and $130m globally.

Based on a video game, Five Nights at Freddy’s scored the biggest opening weekend of the year for a horror film, is the second-largest debut ever for a video-game adaptation and is the highest-grossing opening weekend for a Halloween weekend release.

The weekend also saw Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour cross the $200m mark globally; its box office take is now $203m.
