HMMA UNVEILS 2023 NOMS

The Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) has revealed its 2023 nominees for scores and songs in film and other visual-media categories. The annual ceremony will take place 11/15 at The Avalon in Hollywood.

Billie Eilish and her brother/co-writer, FINNEAS, received an HMMA nomination for “What Was I Made For?” from the film Barbie. Olivia Rodrigo earned a nod with Daniel Nigro in the Best Song–Sci-Fi/Fantasy category for “Can't Catch Me Now."

Justin Timberlake, Alan Menken, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lenny Kravitz, Diane Warren, Metro Boomin and A$AP Rocky were also recognized for their original songs in a feature or animated film.

Composers nominated include Alexandre Desplat, Michael Giacchino, Ludwig Göransson, Laura Karpman, Branford Marsalis, Thomas Newman, James Newton Howard, Mark Pemberton, John Powell, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross, Robbie Robertson, Mark Ronson & Andrew Wyatt and Hans Zimmer.

The HMMA will likewise honor celebrated composer Marc Shaiman with an Outstanding Career Achievement Award.

You can find the full list of nominees here. As for us, we were told—again—that we can't come within 100 yards of the building.
