On the heels of its U.S. beta launch last year, the partnership between TikTok and Ticketmaster has grown to include 20 new markets.
"Certified Artists" on TikTok can now sell concert tickets directly through the app and interact with fans in the U.K., Ireland, Australia, Germany, France, Canada, Mexico, Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Switzerland, Spain and Sweden.
Per TikTok, more than 2.5b videos using Ticketmaster links have been created since the beta launch, with such artists as Shania Twain, Niall Horan, Burna Boy and The Kooks among the early adopters.
“By enabling fans to buy tickets directly through TikTok, we're giving artists the opportunity to reach ticket buyers in a whole new way and change the game for live events around the world,” TikTok Global Music Partnership Development Lead Michael Kümmerle says.
Ticketmaster VP of Global Business Development and Strategic Partnerships Michael Chua adds, “Through our partnership, TikTok and Ticketmaster are empowering artists to easily connect their content to event discovery and ticket purchase in app, making it easier than ever for fans around the world to experience their favorite artists live."
A helpful note for first-time buyers of tickets on the app: When you go to the show, put your freakin' phone down for a minute and just watch.
