Wonka found the golden ticket this weekend at the box office, raking in $39m in its debut stanza in the U.S.

Globally, where the Timothée Chalamet-starrer has been open for two weekends, it collected $53.6m in 77 markets to take its worldwide total to $151.4m.

Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, which came in second, has now topped $300m globally.
