KEYS, BEATZ TO RECEIVE GORDON PARKS FOUNDATION HONOR

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz will be recognized as Patrons of the Arts at the Gordon Parks Foundation's annual awards dinner, which the married couple have co-chaired for a decade.

The event will take place on 5/21 at Cipriani 42nd St. in New York and will also feature a tribute to the late Richard Roundtree, who starred in the classic 1971 Parks-directed film Shaft.

"We are deeply honored to be receiving the Gordon Parks Patrons of the Arts Award in 2024," reads a statement from Keys and Beatz. "We truly appreciate the Foundation's work providing scholarships and fellowships to the next generation of students and artists whose creative work reflects and extends Gordon's important legacy."

Other honorees will include activist/former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, artist Mickalene Thomas and former NAACP chairman Myrlie Evers-Williams, the widow of pioneering civil rights activist Medgar Evers. The event will feature a live auction of Parks' photographs, with all proceeds benefiting the Foundation's year-round educational programming, fellowships and scholarships. Keys' newest song, "Lifeline," can currently be heard on gamma.'s The Color Purple soundtrack.
