NONESUCH AT 60

Nonesuch Records will be celebrating its 60th anniversary throughout 2024 with special programming at Big Ears Festival, exclusive vinyl reissues, a photo exhibition, playlists, videos and more.

“We spend most of our time looking into the future, working with artists on their next releases—so an anniversary gives us a chance to reflect on what has been accomplished, as well as where we are headed” said Nonesuch President David Bither, who has been at the label since 1995 and in his current role since 2015. “It also gives us a welcome opportunity to work closely with some of our longtime friends in the music community.”

Fifteen past and present Nonesuch artists, among them Laurie Anderson, Rhiannon Giddens, Mary Halvorson and Kronos Quartet, will perform at Big Ears in Knoxville, Tenn., 3/21–24.

Vinyl Me, Please will release The Paragon Series of 12 high-end reissues from the catalog, including titles from The Black Keys, Carolina Chocolate Drops and Stephen Sondheim. Nonesuch will reissue a selection of its most beloved albums on vinyl, beginning this month with Gustavo Santaolalla’s Ronroco, Wilco’s A Ghost is Born and others. Additional reissues will be announced throughout the year.

Nonesuch launches a new video series today (1/19), Nonesuch Selects, which features the label’s artists choosing records by their labelmates, past and current from the label’s library. Guitarist-composer Halvorson does the first one. A playlist of more than 750 tracks, which includes one track from nearly every digitally available album the label has released, also debuts today.

There will also 60th anniversary-branded merch and flash record sales throughout the year.
