The Super Bowl crushed the domestic box office this weekend as combined ticket sales hit an estimated $40m, the most meagre Super Bowl weekend take in more than three decades outside the COVID-shutdown year of 2021.

Matthew Vaughn’s Argylle held onto the #1 slot. Lisa Frankenstein took second with $3.8m.

  4. The Chosen: S4 Episodes (Fathom Events): $3.15m total; 1,955 screens/$1,613 average per screen (Week 2)
  5. Wonka (Warner Bros.): $3.1m total; 2,764 screens/$1,130 average per screen (Week 9)
