WCM GETS UNDER THE COVERS

Warner Chappell's Production Music division will create new arrangements of classics and deep cuts to help users minimize licensing complexities. The music will be released via a new label, Run4Cover.

Run4Cover’s repertoire will feature new renditions of Radiohead’s "Exit Music (For a Film)" and "Karma Police," Curtis Mayfield’s "Move on Up," Kool & The Gang’s "Celebration" and Donna Summer’s "Hot Stuff." The covers are done in an assortment of styles, including interpretations by a string quartet and a big band.

“Great songs have so many different facets and guises, and this is a fantastic way for our clients to tap into covers of iconic classics and bring out different dimensions,” said Rich Robinson, WCM’s EVP of Global Synchronization and Media Original Music.

All label compositions are controlled by WCM; the original recordings are owned by Warner Chappell Production Music. Clients will benefit from a streamlined clearance process through a single point of contact, creating a convenient one-call protocol. Additionally, Run4Cover offers custom covers tailored to individual preferences.

Yes, you actually can finally license a string-quartet rendition of "In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida."
