Now that the world's had some time to digest Beyoncé's plans for a country album, folks might remember that this isn't the Texan's first rodeo. Could some of Nashville's finest make surprise appearances on the project?
Roots-leaning Nashville-based rock star Jack White, who famously worked with Loretta Lynn, was among Bey's Lemonade collaborators, appearing on and co-producing "Don't Hurt Yourself." The album also boasted “Daddy Lessons,” which took on a life of its own once The Chicks began covering it on tour in 2016. Bey would join them for a memorable performance at the CMAs later that year.
Speculators are speculating that a collaboration with former country act Taylor Swift could be in the works for act ii following "Texas Hold 'Em" co-producer Killah B's "shocking the world" declaration regarding Bey's intentions with the album. Bey and Tay recently showed mutual support by attending each other's concert-film premieres.
After the album teaser dropped during the Super Bowl, fans were quick to note that its visuals were reminiscent of the video for Beyoncé and Lady Gaga's 2009 "Telephone." Could a Gaga reunion be in the cards?
Or could Music City A-listers be tapped to join Queen B. on act ii? Dolly? Kacey? Stapleton? Combs? Who wouldn't jump at that opportunity?
As with all things Beyoncé pre-launch, virtually every aspect of this project is top-secret, so we'll just keep our Stetsons handy in preparation for 4/19.
