Word has it that as part of the new UMG West Coast reorg, Justin Lubliner’s Darkroom Records will be able to sign new acts to any of the labels in John Janick’s portfolio, including Capitol, Geffen and Motown, as well as Interscope. Known for its effectiveness in artist development, Darkroom, of course, is the home of one of Interscope’s most resounding successes, Billie Eilish, not to mention another recent breakout, d4vd, and much more.
Lubliner, who signed Eilish in 2016 and has appeared on all manner of “hot” lists, is currently celebrating the 10th anniversary of the company he formed at age 23. Darkroom’s current roster will stay with IGA.
