GLOVER FEELS PULSE AS LABEL'S NEW PREZ OF A&R

PULSE Records has tapped Tim Glover as president of A&R; he’ll report to PULSE Music Group co-CEOs Josh Abraham and Scott Cutler and President Ashley Calhoun. It’s a big get for the fledgling label, the company’s first foray onto the label side, which launched last June.

Glover comes aboard from Interscope Geffen A&M, where he ascended to the role of EVP of A&R; he joined IGA in 2014. During his decade at the company he ran point on J. Cole and his Dreamville imprint (JID, Ari Lennox) and did A&R for LVRN, working with that team to develop such artists as Summer Walker and 6LACK. He also signed and oversaw the development of Lil Mosey, Tierra Whack and comer Jordan Ward.

The Philly native and Howard University grad began his career as a UMG college rep. An early gig at Def Jam brought him into marketing campaigns for the likes of Big Sean, 2 Chainz and Pusha T.

“Tim’s creative ability has led him to sign and work with some of the world’s top recording artists,” reads a statement jointly issued by Abraham, Cutler and Calhoun. “We want our artists at PULSE Records to work with the very best in executive talent and Tim will be a key part of the team as we continue to build.”

“The PULSE team is synonymous with artist creativity, artist development, building a strong creative community,” reads Glover’s quote, “and they go out of their way to customize their A&R strategies to the unique needs of each and every artist. What Scott, Josh and Ashley have built at PULSE is extremely re-energizing—I’m honored and excited to join the team, and I look forward to big things ahead.”

The newly expanded creative team then repaired to a nearby eatery for locally sourced avocado toast.
