WINEHOUSE BIOPIC GETS CAVE-SCORED SOUNDTRACK

Bad Seeds members Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have scored the Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black, which will be released digitally 4/12 and in physical form 5/17. Also arriving on 5/17 is UMR/Island's Back to Black: Songs From the Original Motion Picture, which includes a new Cave-sung track, "Song for Amy."

The standard edition of the collection features three songs each from Winehouse's 2003 debut album Frank and her 2006 breakthrough Back to Black, plus cuts from The Shangri-Las, Billie Holiday, Minnie Riperton, Dinah Washington and Sarah Vaughan. Expanded editions boast additional songs from Tony Bennett, Little Anthony and the Imperials, The Libertines and Willie Nelson, among others.

The film is out 4/12 in the U.K. and Ireland through STUDIOCANAL and 5/16 in the U.S. through Focus Features. Marisa Abela stars in as Winehouse, who died in 2011 at age 27 after years of drug and alcohol abuse.

Back to Black is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, who wrote a personal note set included with the vinyl edition of the soundtrack. Click here to peruse and pre-order the various formats.
