Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire dominated the domestic box office over the weekend, pulling in $45.2m. The tally edged the opening stanza of its 2021 predecessor Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which grossed $44m.

This other new release this weekend, Immaculate starring Sydney Sweeney, opened in fourth place with $5.3m. Late Night With the Devil, in sixth place with $2.8m, is the biggest opening weekend for IFC Films.
