BEACH BOYS DOC HEADING TO DISNEY+

A new documentary on the Beach Boys will begin streaming exclusively on Disney+ beginning 5/24. New vinyl, a soundtrack and a book are on the way, too.

The Beach Boys features new interviews with band members Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks and Bruce Johnston, plus other musicians such as Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monáe, Ryan Tedder and Don Was.

Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny directed the film written by Mark Monroe. Marshall, Irving Azoff, Nicholas Ferrall, Jeanne Elfant Festa and Aly Parker are the producers; UMPG’s Jody Gerson and UMe’s Bruce Resnikoff are among the executive producers.

The official soundtrack will be available to stream and download on 5/ 24 via Capitol/UMe, and the group’s 1964 album Shut Down, Vol. 2 is being released on limited edition blue and white marble vinyl on Friday (3/29). Additionally, the group’s only official book, The Beach Boys by The Beach Boys, will be released on 4/2 via Genesis Publications.

The entire production team celebrated the news by walking the nose at Rincon.
