FIRMA AQUÍ: UMPG INKS TIJUANA FAVES
8/21/23

UMPG has signed Tijuana band Grupo Firme and indie label Music VIP Entertainment to an exclusive, global publishing agreement. In addition to charting songs such as “Ya Superame,” “Cada Quien,” “El Toxico” and “En Tu Perra Vida,” UMPG has also signed the entire catalog of Music VIP Entertainment, home to Grupo Firme, El Mimoso and La Ventaja, among others.

“UMPG has earned a place in Regional Mexican as the leading publisher, and this gives us all the confidence for our composers,” Music VIP Entertainment CEO Isael Gutierrez said. “We are proud of having learned and achieved so much independently in the most adverse circumstances but moving forward, we want to continue this positive trend alongside knowledgeable and trusted partners such as them.”

Yadira Moreno, UMPG managing director of Mexico and Central America & VP of new business development for Latin America, added, “We are thrilled to be representing Grupo Firme and Music VIP Entertainment during this global surge in Mexican music. There is greatness in everything that they set their mind to, and we are thankful to be chosen as part of this. We have the best team to support their journey and are passionate for this generational music.”

UMPG represents many of genre’s biggest artists/songwriters, including Juan Gabriel, Jenni Rivera, Espinoza Paz, Yahritza y Su Esencia, Jose Alfredo Jimenez and many more. Seen in the photo elated nobody from HITS has tried to contact them yet are (l-r) Moreno and Gutierrez.
