STYLES LEADS IVOR NOMS
4/18/23

Harry Styles and Kid Harpoon are up for three Ivor Novello Awards while Cleopatra Nikolic and Dean “Inflo” Josiah Cover are among the most nominated songwriters.

Songwriter of the Year will be a battle between Florence Welch, Styles and Harpoon, Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers of Wet Leg, The 1975’s George Daniel and Matty Healy and Central Cee and Young Chencs.

Styles and Harpoon are also up for Best Song Musically and Lyrically and Most Performed Work for "As It Was."

Those up for Best Album include the writers behind Arctic Monkey’s The Car, Obongjayar’s Some Nights I Dream of Doors and Fontaines D.C.’s Skinty Fia. Nikolic and Cover are both nominated twice in this category, for their work on Little Simz’s No Thank You and SAULT’s 11. A nod in the Best Song list for "Stronger" by SAULT brings their nominee tally to three.

In the Most Performed Work category, Ed Sheeran makes history as “Bad Habits” is once again nominated after winning the award last year. He is the first artist to achieve the feat in this category. His “Shivers” is also nominated.

Names to look out for in the Rising Star list include Sony signings Cat Burns and venbee, songwriter Ines Dunn, 0207 Def Jam singer and producer, tendai, and Parlophone singer and songwriter, Victoria Canal.

Winners will be announced at a ceremony in London on 5/18.
