HENLEY GOES NASHVILLE
ON UPCOMING SET
7/17/15

Don Henley will release Cass County, his first solo album since 2000’s Inside Job, as well as his first for Capitol, on Sept. 25.

Recorded in Nashville using Music City’s renowned pickers, the country-leaning LP features contributions from Merle Haggard, Miranda Lambert, Mick Jagger, Martina McBride, Jamey Johnson, Alison Krauss, Vince Gill and Dolly Parton. Former Heartbreakers drummer Stan Lynch returns as producer.

“I can truthfully say, I enjoyed making this record more than any record I've made in my career because of the people who participated,” Henley said during a recent interview. “John Sebastian was dead right in 1965 or 1966 when he wrote that song ‘Nashville Cats.’ It's still true all these years later. There are some amazing musicians here."

The preorder became available Friday at iTunes, with "Take a Picture of This" (what a creamy chorus hook this one sports) and "That Old Flame" (a duet with McBride that's pure country) as the instant-grat tracks.

Cass County will come in three sizes: a 12-track standard CD/digital album, a 16-track deluxe version and a super-deluxe (available only in Henley's online store), which includes a 50 -page booklet, postcards, deluxe CD album and 180-gram vinyl double album.

A fall solo tour will follow the album’s release.

Don’t miss the two-and-a-half minute album trailer below. With the degree of gravitas in his speaking voice, the dude could narrate epic films.
