Carrie Underwood, Glen Campbell, Little Big Town, Crystal Gayle, Tanya Tucker and The Statler Brothers are among the artists who will be honored at Academy of Country Music’s 10th annual ACM Honors. The event will take place in the fall at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
Underwood will receive the ACM Lifting Lives Gary Haber Award, a new award to recognize a country music artist or industry professional committed to serving others. Campbell will be honored with the Career Achievement Award; Gayle, Tucker and The Statler Brothers will receive the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award honoring pioneers in country music. The Crystal Milestone Award goes to Little Big Town for the success of “Girl Crush.”
Ross Copperman will be honored as Songwriter of the Year.
Other honorees include the late Jeff Walker, who will receive the Jim Reeves International Award; Keith Urban, who will be recognized for his years of service to the Academy with the Mae Boren Axton Award; and the late Eddie Rabbitt and Jimmy Webb will receive the Poet’s Award.
The Studio Recording Awards will be given to Michael Rhodes (bass); Shannon Forrest (drums); Derek Wells (guitar); Jim ‘Moose’ Brown (keyboards); Danny Rader (specialty instrument); Paul Franklin (steel guitar); Justin Niebank (engineer); and Dave Cobb (producer).
