UMG Nashville has inked singer, producer, writer, and actress Chrissy Metz. Star of 20th Century Fox’s Breakthrough and the award-winning NBC series This Is Us, Metz first worked with the label on “I’m Standing With You,” the Oscar nominated, Diane Warren penned track featured on Breakthrough’s soundtrack. Her ACM Awards debut followed in April, when she performed the track alongside her now label mates Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina, Mickey Guyton, and Maddie & Tae.

Metz shares, “To say I am excited to fulfill a lifelong dream is an understatement. Music has always been my first love and to be working alongside Cindy [Mabe] and the incomparable team at UMG is truly a gift!” UMG Nashville President Mabe adds, “Chrissy Metz is simply tapped into America’s emotional conscience. I can’t wait to put her musical story into the world and I’m so inspired to bring her into the Universal Music Group Nashville family.”

Metz is currently working on her debut country album, set to be released later this year. The Emmy and two-time Golden Globe nominee is also producing upcoming Amazon film Gorge and had her memoir, This Is Me, debut at #1 on the NYT bestseller list.
