The RIAA has promoted Jackie Jones to SVP of Artist & Industry Relations. She'll continue reporting to CPO Morna Willens from the Nashville offices.
Jones joined the RIAA in 2019 after 17 years at Viacom's CMT. Since then, she's cultivated relationships with artists and their teams across the U.S. in support of RIAA’s advocacy mission while bringing artists to the forefront of policy advocacy and connecting lawmakers with the music community in an effort to protect recorded music and celebrate its creators.
“Jackie is a championing force whose deep ties in Music City are unparalleled," Willens said. "Her creativity and ability to engage labels, artists and community partners is a great asset to the work of the RIAA."
During her tenure, Jones has executed numerous events, created artist partnerships and help spark music-business opportunities for Tennessee State University students. She was instrumental earlier this year to honoring Missy Elliott as the only female hip-hop artist with six platinum-certified studio albums. In September, she led RIAA Honors: Pioneers of Hip-Hop in Washington, D.C. Jones was overjoyed that nobody from HITS could make the trip.
