Nielsen-Arbitron

COUNT ON IT: Nielsen Holdings has finalized its acquisition of Arbitron. It’ll be rebranded Nielsen Audio and will be integrated into Nielsen’s U.S. Watch, which covers TV, online, mobile and radio. Adding Arbitron gives Nielsen the ability to measure eight hours a day of media consumption, up from six. The deal is for $48 per share, or a total of $1.3 billion purchase price, funded by cash on hand and debt financing. We couldn’t be happier for them. (9/30a)
