ADD iRADIO: The FT story offered some specifics about Apple’s supposed approach. The company has deliberately chosen not to launch an on-demand streaming service like Spotify, Rhapsody or Rdio, which allow users to choose exactly what tracks they listen to, because doing so would cannibalize its lucrative download business. The new service is unlikely to charge a subscription but would be funded through advertising, according to people close to discussions.
