REPORT: SPRINGSTEEN MOVING TO UMPG

Bruce Springsteen is moving his publishing to Jody Gerson’s Universal Music Publishing Group, according to the New York Post.

The Post reports that Springsteen was looking to house his copyrights with a single entity. Currently, Downtown Publishing handles the U.S. and Sony/ATV administers the U.K.

Springsteen has methodically re-examined his catalog in recent years with box sets dedicated to Born to Run, Darkness on the Edge of Town and The River, films on the making of those albums and tours connected to the catalog releases.

Rumors abound that he will make a two-month run on Broadway beginning in November. Is it to unveil a new album or explore music from the next possible catalog exploration, which, chronologically, would be his solo set Nebraska? Stay tuned.
